gonna take a while to get used to the UK way of thinking about android, but it could work for me. so far the only thing that's confusing me is the data connection. i'm on cellc and it seems to only want edge. i deleted the default "smartdata" one it had and set up a new apn (found here http://www.cellc.co.za/services/page/mms/android/2). it still only seems to want edge though. any ideas?

OK that is a Odd one...

I have cell C and can give you settings as I got em
Everythinf as the site mentions only have some added data
MCC: 655
MNC: 07
APN Type: default,supl
APN Protocol: IPv4

Also check the Data type selection is set to 3G prefered or you can test with 3G only

when i put those in, save and select 3g prefered, it loses data connection and doesn't come back. i'll reboot it and see what happens.

What phone have you got?

Seeing that you flashed UK, its possible you have to get the right radio and RIL files

ahh, ok. after changing to 3g preferred, it disabled my data connection. i went snooping around and saw that. enabled it and now everything is happy again.

now to put my angry birds back on.

If you talking about the weather effect, its part of the Beautiful widgets(Paid) weather animation when you select the widget. I guess it will look ok but since you dont see it most of the time is not really worth it unless you want the Clock as seen on my home screen as well.

Well after playing a bit more I broke my phone... guess I should not have ran a certain fix perms script. Busy setting everything from scratch... At least I have record of how it looked before I had to reset to factory and re-flash.

Lol the joys of android modding! Those days come around once in a while when something goes wrong and u think 'oh crap'.....and sadly proceed to reset and wipe everything and start over

I dont think there is any tablet builds yet. even 2.2 ones...

first you think that not having an app drawer is weird, but you get over it and do the folder thing. works like the real thing (mine is empty because it was a test and it doesn't bother me really).

battery life on a new sgs2 is pretty good - about a day and a half with quite a bit of use (first charge, but still callibrating the battery).

best thing I noticed is the data connection. on the stock rom I had some issues where it wouldn't do anything and I had to disable and re-enable data and then it would be fine (cell c). with miui, I have none of that. it just works.

all I need now is to get the radio part to work.

It crashed on my stock ROM's as well... But to be honest I prefer Tapatalk anyway

I really like the browser that comes with MIUI.us. Uninstalled Opera Mobile and haven't looked back.
