Just to confirm, apps from the Marketplace will work on MIUI? Rooting this week and MIUI looks the best fit for my Desire.

Flashed the Miui rom on monday never looking back and already got an update ...

It updates every Friday :)

You can always skip them if you happy with what you have, lucky for me I have more than 1 phone, so I update the test phone 1st, if the changelog mentions something worth while, then see if its worth updating the main phone or wait for the next update.

I read that some of the 'official partners' of MIUI were being sent free MIUI devices (MIUI.us etc.) Lucky basteds!
Would love to get my hands on one of those

Should have started a SA MIUI split and translated it into Afrikaans :(

So this has been my MIUI EXperience.
Firstly my SD was formatted into the ext3,4 partitions etc. I installed MIUI (from CM7) and it went smoothely, but then it couldn't pick up my SD card, along with this, recovery mode was gone. So i was stuck with buggerall :p
I really like the smoothness of it, i just dont like having every single app on my desktop :/ clutters it a lot.
I do like the different effects you can choose when you swipe, very kief.

Is their an App drawer or do you have to have every app in a seperate folder on the desktop?

Long press on the background till you get a screen that looks like below
Then just drag a folder widget onto the screen.

attachment.php

Once you have an icon named folder you can just click on it and it will open, on the top left you can select edit.

attachment.php

This will allow you to change the sort order also rename it example Menu or whatever you want.

attachment.php

Simply drag the Folder icon into your bottom tray

attachment.php

and you are ready to drag and drop apps from your screens into it

attachment.php

Then all you need to do is tap on it to get your new App menu, with all the applications you draged into it.

attachment.php

As Elimentals suggested on page 3, create a folder and add it to your dock.

I still prefer launcherpro or golauncher. They just feel more familiar and I get all the miui goodness along with launchers that I like \0/

I don't know much when it comes to flashing and the recovery problem you have, perhaps someone else can help u with that.

With regards to the app drawer, there is none. If you really want one,you can make a folder and drag all ur applications in to it. Then drag the folder to the dock, and rename it "app drawer" or "apps" etc. You also have the sorting options so you can arrange the icons how u wish (alphabetical, most used...). Its a deliberate feature of MIUI to have no app drawer so that's about as close as you gna get to one...

I also found it very weird in the beginning, but its actually forced to me organise my homescreens into folders etc. And I'm actually used to it now and I quite like it.

Edit:seems like I typed too slowly. :p

i downloaded rom manager now so i could boot in recovery, just formatting sd card, removing partitions, hopefully MIUI will pick it up now.
Ty about the folder in the bottom dock thing, just forgot to drag it down ^_^.
Ah the customization of android is beautiful

Here's a better solution with regards to an app drawer.

MIUI can boot to recovery when you select the reboot option. Just Press Power button till power off options appear.
