Mixed feelings on new MWEB logo

MWEB launched a new logo on 1 March 2020 to align its new look with its online and digital brand identity.

“Our category is tech, our business strategy is online, and our marketing activity is digitally-led,” Carolyn Holgate, MWEB’s general manager for product, sales and marketing told MyBroadband.

Polishing feces does not change the fact that it is still fecal matter.
Logo changes, corporate rebrands and other processes are the usual form for those underperformers- the category of which have long histories of offering customers sub-par service for premium amounts.

Oof. Harsh to call them out with an entire article, but hey, maybe they'll insist on a better logo from their marketing firm.

That was my comment. :p

Branding with non-physical products has always intrigued me.....

They are trying the same thing as Microsoft with Internet Explorer, it was so bad for so long that its schiteness became public knowledge even to those who never used it. So with the rebrand at least plebs (more market share than tech savvy users) were fooled by it, but they played their cards right by basing it on Chrome.

80% dislike == mixed :unsure:

Shite company with shite service and a shite logo to go with it. Seems fitting.
Why the dot/full stop/period at the end of the new logo I wonder. Makes it looking fuglier (to me anyway)

Would love to have been in the boardroom when they were going through short list. If this was the best can you imagine what the of the options rest looked like.

Look if they can re-imagine Sonic the Hedgehog in upcoming movie I'm sure the can do the same for this logo.

First, its a company that will spend the absolute minimal amount of anything. The primary purpose of this company is to enrich a group of shareholders at the client's expense. They therefore likely used the cheapest (self-employed) agency to provide logotype specimens and branding and chose from that.

Second- I do not think Sonic The Hedgehog is an upcoming film, it has already been released in theatres, and you cannot compare what happened with him to what is happening to a rather unscrupulous South African company.

Missed the first poll but damn that's fugly!

Whoever approved that should be fired for crap taste.

Its kaak no matter how you spin it. Cell-C did the same last year and got burned. If I was shareholder I would have put a stop to this nonsense a long time ago. Especially in the current climate. Was being facetious regarding Sonic movie.
