First off, hello to everyone. I'm new here and this is my first posting..

Okay, to the point, I'm desperately looking for a club/gym/dojo/academy where I can train in MMA (was considering Muay Thai for it's striking ability, but went with MMA 'cos of the inclusion of grappling in the training)
However, I'm having a lot of trouble finding an effective, credible place that offers the sport..
Anyone able to help me?
By the way, I live in Kempton and work in sandton... So the closer to either of those areas, the better..

Thanks

I thought MMA is another way of saying more than one form of martial art is allowed, for competition purposes, I never realised that you get a school that teaches it specifically.

What do you intend getting it ouf the training?

Strange I just posted earlier with the exact same question.

I see there is a place in Edenvale but I'm not sure if they do true MMA. www.combatcoaching.com

Also not sure if they are credible thou.

If you dont find what you're looking for, I can recommend a fight club that my husband joined recently. It's in the Fourways area. Send me a msg if you decide on it.

On a roll man. I hope the thread attracts quite a few people. Need as many promoters as we can find for all these forms of martial arts to get more and more people involved in this great way of life.

Hi there

I am currently an MMA practitioner. combatcoaching.com is definately a reputable gym. In jhb one of the affilliates is now called crossfit and it is in Sandton. They used to be called fightfit, but some other gym used their name. I train at the fight right mixed martial arts gym in little falls, but i think this would be too far for you to travel. visit www.combatcoaching.com its drfinately worth it and the compete in most of the major events. NB there is a cage fight comming up at emerald casin on 02 October 2009. Morne Swanepoel of combatcoaching.com will be hosting a workshop for cage fighters in oakdene on 03 October 2009. You might wanna check these out.
Hope this helps. :)
