If it were me, I'd take the new Polo GTi. Looks great. Interior is better and has a bigger motor.

With a bit more mileage, you can get the Mk5 facelift for R300k or less.
They are trying their luck selling it for that much.

If you can afford it though, there's nothing to think about really.

Besides younger it's all-new gen model. Efficient MQB platform, new tech, safety features, styling etc.

If money were not an issue, I would take the new MkVI Polo GTi, based on the MQB platform using the slightly older 2.0 TSi. Being based on the MQB platform does make it look a little bloated but everything that I have read points to it being a great car with a lot of new technology.

Jeepers R9k p/m for a Polo excl insurance. Mind blowing.

I had the 6R (previous) Gti. its a lovely car, well made. quick.... just a little boring. For this reason I would say go for the new one rather, purely from a chassic/fun standpoint.
