14.7 on Killarney track, phone Killarney and ask them for their records 15 years ago when the supies were doing those times

if you know anything about Killarney you will know its not the best stretch for quartermile times.

And now the excuses flow in typical fanboy fashion.

if you want to grab onto 14.3 in optimal conditions vs 14.7 in well known poor conditions to prove to me that a car produced 25 years later is faster than a superboss, then sure you win- not that I stated that the superboss is faster than an Astra G.

One of us is certainly struggling here (hint, it's not me).

Please elaborate on the videos? Are you using them for a quarter mile time of 14.7?

In that case allow me to link the Astra OPC quarter mile time of 14.3, which is faster. Remember that you stated the Superboss is probably faster than modern Opels. This is clearly not the case in a straight line.

Feel free to amend your opinion on straight line performance in the face of facts.

I still want to see some verifiable circuit racing performance claims from you so we can repeat the above process.

In all fairness he did say "probably" and he isn't far off.

Considering it's age it does compare very well to these modern cars...but as was also said it is a death trap and if you compared it as a complete package the Superboss loses.

I mean we might as well throw in the other famous SA death trap the Uno Turbo in the mix...which I have no idea what the stats are but I'm sure it's pretty crazy as well.

Would I drive one today compared to one of these modern cars? Not a bloody a chance.

Safety has "hampered" performance somewhat, but that really is no bad thing.

he just wants to win an argument for the sake of winning an argument, if though nobody was actually arguing with him, it makes him feel good I suppose.

You do know that when saturnz says "you win", it's the same as when your wife says "fine" don't you?

Basically every time someone asks for links or proof of any sort for his assertions, he walks around mumbling "alright, you win" before continuing the argument with the exact same unsubstantiated argument he just used.

I'm trying to decide if he's just full of schit or if he doesn't actually know how to copy and paste a link. Currently I'm leaning (quite strongly) towards the former.

you do realise I never said a superboss was faster than an Astra G, so you just won an argument with nobody, well done

You're still talking?

True, though saturnz likes to throw around opinions and very rarely backs them up with facts (though fanboy excuses are perfectly acceptable), so this was just a bit of goading more than anything else. I don't actually care a dime about Opels.

Though to your point I agree, safety has hampered performance. Performance still marches on though, and while we like to remember cars of yesteryear fondly, often our memories are a bit rose-coloured.

Oh I know and agree with you, I'm just waiting for a heavily delayed meeting and figured giving him *** was a decent way to pass the time.

so tell us how am I supposed to provide links when I stated the evidence does not exist on the internet, please elaborate

when I said the superboss is probably faster than all those cars, I was referring to a statement Roux said, and only one of the cars he mentioned was an Opel, and it wasn't an Astra

those are facts, what facts are you working with?

My gosh but you're easy to troll. Take a step back, breathe and have a look at what's happening.

:) I too don't give a toss about which Opel is quicker, I'm not likely to ever own any of them. The last one I had burnt to a crisp, nearly taking me with it, and although I quite liked it, they've gone in a direction which has appealed to me less and less with each passing generation.

Nope, they're merely your opinion until you can prove it. I'm not working with any facts here, I'm just waiting for you to back up your "facts". A crappy photograph using your phone of a magazine article would even suffice, but you won't, because you just cannot understand that facts need to be proved.

I posted two video clips? Did you miss that? And yes there are magazine articles, but they don't make reference to quarter mile or track times, so they are rather irrelevant.

this is my original point, Opel have gone backwards, so basically you are agreeing with me.

if you call that trolling then you win again, well done on that masterpiece

You wouldn't know trolling (or being trolled) if it rode in on a Superboss, slapped you on the quarter mile, and rode out (down to Cape Town with the aircon on) in Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160i GSi Car of the Year 1991.

NO. I AM NOT AGREEING WITH YOU.

I don't like their styling much, but I don't give a toss about their performance, which is what this discussion (if what we're doing even warrants that description) is about.
