It's possible that Smith was never the same again mentally after that home invasion in 2020 he experienced.
Seems that the home invader was a former high school wrestling champ with a history of mental illness and domestic violence, possibly on drugs that evening. Little disappointed with that press conference for the DDP vs Izzy card. Stare down was alright, but the rest was so mellow. Really thought these 2 were going to climb into each other but both rather laid back.

Such a missed opportunity with this one. This would have been much better at Vegas or even better South Africa. But ja, it seems UFC is not quite convinced a SA event would be successful.
Izzy vs DDP in Africa was the big money move, the story was already there.

Agree. It could have been so much more interesting with the whole Africa angle but he decided not to.
Izzy ruined his reputation with is previous press conference and his weird behaviour. Claiming he is from China for money, he attacked Kape when Kape threatened the puppy, the Strickland bringing up all his weird behaviour with his dog. Izzy reputation went down a ton. Now he is keeping it muted and saying nothing controversial which is a pity.
