Most importantly, hes giving the sport exposure

My gym is suddenly fuller after the win. had to park way further from my regular parking spot yesterday

That's great, and in another 10-15 years time another South African will make it into the UFC and tell everyone how they saw DDP defend his title as a kid.

I'm sure we will have others between then and now but the next generation of fighters are being made now, and this is just what they need.

I feel this is happening across various sports atm. Our rugby culture and systems is certainly at the best it has ever been giving hope to so many young people watching the likes of Siya and Pieter and Ox etc.

Same with our Athletes. Looking at the 18 year old who got silver at an Olympics relay final, that is giving hope and hopefully inspiring some young kids.

DDP is definitely paving the way as well and will inspire a lot of kids.

All of this is so good for this country, we needed a W like this.

Yup

We have some promising young fighters atm. most notably SA u15 MMA champ, as well as some local amature contenders.

Troublemaker won his EFC title from our gym so thats a big draw

Saaiman was doing well, but he's lost his last two, and Talbott ****ing schooled him in his last fight.

I was thinking that the young wrestler we had in the Olympics should start training MMA (if he isn't already doing so). Just look at how well the Olympic wrestlers have done in the UFC over the years.

He says he is a "has been" , as in over the hill, then uses the JK / Joke, brendan is a "never was" i.e. he wasnt ever great or good. You cant be a has been if you have never been "good" or "relevant"
