Did not watch ddp v strickland 2

But at least this one was not at all contentious as to who won.

I still think Strickland was the dominant fighter in the first fight, who was waiting for the latter rounds to go to town on ddp. Then the gash happened and it was overs.

Still - even if it is 1 : 1 - I don't think there is the slightest appetite for a 3rd. From anyone.
Even if you are correct, do you think that gash just magically appeared ?

A gash is a hit, most likely several direct hits. Even if you don't go down, that's points on the board that can't be disputed.

Sure. But I think the contention was over how the gash appeared, not that it may have been merely a trick of the light witnessed by hundreds of thousands of people simultaneously.

Gashes can be caused through head-buts or through legitimate strikes.

Not saying I know. I'm not that invested in either fighter to get too emotional about it.

I also don't know how we can have so many high definition cameras and still not know the answer.

Perhaps the crowds are moved along to ensure the judges don't look bad, .... and/or that a follow-up encounter is not sacrificed in the pursuit of clarity.

Strickland's finest performance, for me, was when he took the Canadian woke press apart in front of everyone.

That was a joy to watch.
