Simon Grindrod pointed this out. It seems like the DA Apologists think that its fine if Zille does it.

Most of the people who now predict the end of the DA is race obsessed individuals who did not vote DA with Mmusi as leader

Yeah as you say the only thing this has accomplished is that Democracy loses, as we need a strong opposition to keep the ANC in line. I supported Zille when she was leader but preferred Mmusi in charge.

I do think that people overreacted to Zille's return though, I mean Mashaba resigning because of it was just pathetic. Zille used to house umkhonto we sizwe during apartheid for goodness sake. She might have a differing opinion to Mashaba but she's certainly no enemy.

Our democracy is indeed weakened with decline of any political party/voice, especially the biggest opposition party. I intensely dislike what Helen has become ... her new course, she however is not an enemy - for me, Padme sums it up the best :
.... but ya, that is life -politics , that is politicians for you ...like any good business, understand your market - where your base is and were you must play for growth.
Clearly the DA understands the white vote it bled during May, is where its financial support comes from and it wants/needs it back ...nett result, a more conservative trajectory camouflaged in liberalism
I do take joy out of the fact she and her laptop boys were totally blindsided with Mmusi not wanting to play the orderly exit game they had drafted and shat themselves when Athol , on principle, told them to go **** themselves. The DA will consolidate its base once more, but effectively will never be a real national government contender.

You don't need to be a race obsessed individual or to have voted for Maimane to see that the DA is in big trouble. I would not say it is the end of it, that is just idiotic looking at the likes of Freedom Front still existing.

They were in big trouble long before the events of the last few days. The spring cleaning was needed.

My point is wat most of the people, who now is so critical, is not really the moderate South Africans we would vote for a party like the DA.

Sums him up perfectly. I'd gladly go sit in his church but he is no politician.

Think he tried desperately to grow the party where growth was possible but lacked the experience to do so without coming across harshly to the one side.

Helen of the past was good at this.. keeping things murky and getting benefit both sides of the fence but Mmusi isn’t very experienced (age I guess helps here too) and combined with leadership inconsistencies I can see why they weren’t too happy (well for the latter).

But yah.. next elections ANC and EFF gonna see massive increase in votes as middle class non-whites left with no options and others who were on the fence votes for either (if CR around and things start improving, court cases flowing ..) or sits out/doesn’t vote. I seriously doubt DA will win FF+ votes back and if this was their point of tactic they will regret it.

Just wait for the DA to fall in CT.

Their municipality jacked up property rates between 50% and 300% without consultation or recourse to effectively appeal in the last financial year. This has irked property owners who keep on receiving higher property rates and lower service levels. It seems the more you pay, the less you get with the DA.

Vagrants litter the city's streets with junk, needles and pi$$ and poo in every nook and cranny.

Sadly CT has become another limp wristed liberal Seattle, San Francisco style poo hole.

I'm voting FF+ in next Municipal elections and so are many in my hood according to angry whisperings we have shared.

Was listening to a interview now between Bongani Bingwa and a guy from the race relations institute. The guy pretty much had a view that race should not be used as a factor in determining if someone is disadvantaged. If you need help, then you need help, regardless of your colour.

As the interview ended Bongani said, "Well, if that is the future direction of the DA then they wont be around for much longer"

WTF.

Seems Bongani Bingwa inherently states that African classified people will remain in the dirt with cupped hands as they can't do anything for themselves and will forever remain disadvantaged.

IMO, Mmusi should leave party as he said "DA not suited to build One South Africa for All" yesterday.

Yes, I really don't understand why he is hanging around.
