My feeling is that those black voters are likely to go back to the ANC than the EFF, the EFF has done a lot of blunders and alienated whatever sympathizers they might have gained from the Zuma era. Signs of a stagnation are already evident from the recent election, I honestly don't see them benefiting out if the DA mess.

I suspect that they will just stay home.

All of this plays the City of Joburg into the wrong hands. Right now, this is all I care about!

I agree, I think that with CR at the ANC helm, at the next national election you will probably see an upsurge in ANC votes again.

I think the smaller parties are just fighting among themselves for the voters that don't want to vote ANC (for whatever the voters reason).

They're never getting the city back (not that they want it) - unless they agree to let the EFF be mayor. The best for the city would be new elections.

The first thing they will have to do is to stop sending mixed messages . Voters get confused if they say they want a non-racial South Africa but at the same time support racial policies. There are enough moderate and sensible South Africans who does not fall for identity politics.

Agreed. Mmusi lost the plot when he espouses a non-racial society but in the same breath says that race is a proxy for disadvantage when it comes to redress and other social policies. The DA support for AA and BBBEE is also not helpful.

The funny thing is that the people who really want a non-racial South Africa is now called right wingers.

Maybe negotiating the wording of his resignation, if that's what this is. I wonder what gifts are being handed out

I actually see both the ANC and EFF benefiting. Sure, the EFF will not benefit that much compared to the ANC but I do see their numbers going slightly up at the expense of the DA.

Part of why the DA is losing votes is after they get power in municipalities they tend to hike rates, water and taxes and other assorted fees....they have too much of a nanny state mentality with high taxes which South Africans are tired of already.

Geez can SA just not catch a break with a proper opposition to the ANC that isn't trying to rape us or control us like sheep!
