New reality show starting this Sunday.

Are you going to watch?

“Sharp Shooter is a world first and South African original - a reality show with a fresh perspective and unique angle that focuses on the world of photography and the skill, passion and determination needed to capture the perfect shot.

From the glamorous world of beauty to the gritty world of journalism, the perfect shots captured by top photographers are crucial in any communication campaign. Architecture, food and fashion all rely on photography to bring their products to the world, but photography is not just about art - it’s about business, determination, guts and making sure you capture the client’s brief.

In Sharp Shooter, 15 photographers are chosen from all walks of life - from amateurs to professionals, students to housewives. The show reveals how the contestants match their photographic and interpersonal skills across a wide range of photographic disciplines – fashion, abstract, product and destination photography. The cinematic treatment of the show makes it different to anything ever seen before, and takes “reality” to a totally new level.

Sitting on the panel as judges are fashion icon and personality, Jenni Button, with a keen eye for detail and design, former Supermodel and photographer, Josie Borain, who travelled the world capturing intimate behind-the-scenes moments of the world’s greatest Supermodels, and the master photographer Bryan Traylor from Locker 14, born in the USA but living and working in South Africa.

Sharp Shooter showcases the hard work, sweat and tears that go into capturing that perfect shot. Hosted by well-known South African entertainer and actor, Craig Urbani, this show promises to be gripping, engaging, fascinating and above all, incredibly good-looking. “

On M-Net’s prime time from Sunday 7 November 2010, at 17h30

Original means they put a fresh coat of paint on an old overused idea. Photographers instead of, cooks, designers, models etc etc etc.

Perfect shot = luck, preparation and determination.

The determination and preparation part I can imagine them judging ... but the luck part ... eish!

Just watched 3/4 of the show and I am a bit disappointed. WAAAAAAY too much talking and too little action. Most of the show people were standing around. Some Pro opinion on what shots could be expected for the firefighters would've been great. Anyway I guess it's a difficult concept to pull off, watching people take photos can be pretty boring.... I just hope they get to do some wildlife or gig photography and I'm looking forward to the underwater stuff!

Sharp Shooters misses the mark.
Long, drawn out and boring!
Too much yapping, not enough shooting.

Very bad. Expected alot more but was terrible. The guy that was eliminated was unlucky. Even the "pro's" chose his photo being the better one of the group, yet he gets eliminated. It just looks like this will again be a series not about the actual topic, "photography" but rather rather the made up drama associated with everyones issues.

I was also dissappointed. There is one pro photographer and he doesn't seem to have much of a decent opinion anyways. They should have some kind of advertising exec to explain to those monkeys what a brief is so they understand properly.

Utter rubbish if you ask me.

I think it a reality photography show is a nice idea. Nice to see the people linked to the photos and you can view the photographers fb/personalportfolio pages from links on the website

So +1 for the interactive part.

The layout of the show has lot of room for improvement so I hope it gets more interesting.Mixture of amateurs & pros .

For the 1st episode they using the entry level D3100 that is more of a point and click so not much technical knowledge that we viewers can learn.

1st prize is 250K worth of Nikon equipment. If I won that I would become a professional photographer. :)

This is the show that replaced idols on Sunday. So it's funny that this show only has only 2 black contestants out of 15. 3 of the last four contestants on Idols were black yet and there were news articles of racism. One of the contestants of this new show (Goddard) seem to look a lot like someone working for M-net. Horses for courses?
