Hello everyone,

My sister made use of the MNP opportunity to move away from Altech Autopage (because of bad customer service) to MTN SP. After initial delays and hickups, the port went through. At the end of February, she received an invoice from Autopage charging her R1,001.81 for "MNP ROLLUP"

What on earth is this? Needles to say, she is very ticked off.

Can anyone shed some light on this? She tried to phone Autopage's so called "Customer Care" number, but she never came through to an operator.

Thanx!

Most prob. A handset clawback fee. If she was still in contract with them then it's deff. that.

Is there any way she can reclaim this fee? As I understand, she was due for an upgrade in December 2006, but I do not think she canceled her contact with Autopage. No one informed her of these hidden costs.

Cheers

It all depends on the termination date of her contract. If she was out of contract then they have to refund her.

It sounds to me that if she was due for an upgrade in Dec 2006, she probably had 4 months of her contract to run, as upgrades are normally offerred after 20 months of a 2 year contract. So Autopage would have been right in penalizing her.

i also ported from altech autopage (non existent customer service) cellc to vodascum 'cause cellc SP wanted to much personal info.
all it cost me was 2 sim cards. 1 for the 1st failed mnp and the second to get it right. my contract expired months b4, but i waited patiently for mnp. ALTECH makes we wanna  I voted with my wallet! ;)

Hehe , despite MTN sending us a bill for line rental for another month , Italk is still on with their handset clawback fee despite the number being reverse ported back to them and a letter from their management stating that the fee is null and void , seems one department does'nt seem to know what the department is doing.
