Sign up with GoogleI have successfully ported from VC to MTN. My son also signed up, but his port request from VC prepaid to MTN contract is now more than a month overdue. The local MTN shop has several customers with the same problem - porting request approved, contract approved, but not porting due to what they claim are system problems. A promise of tomorrow has come and gone many times. Is there a wider system problem with these porting requests?

MNP system problems?

There was a huge backlog in December 2006 , reason being when my dad's port when through and I requested a reversal on 15/12/2006 , it only went through on the 12/01/2007 ...
I'm sure the backlog has now been cleared , perhaps MTNDD can confirm ...

The SP needs to sort you out. If you are using MTNSP then you are in luck. MTNDD can refer you to someone who can make it happen. If not then then bug your SP to sort it out, or be clever and start using MTNSP like I did. At least when you come here you know you can have access to people who can make a difference.(yes its a shameless plug but damn after trying the same thing 12 times my previous Sp could not work out they were doing something wrong. MTNDD and crew sorted it out no problem first time)

MNP saga continues. After re-submitting MNP request on approx 23 Feb, we are still waiting. The logs at the MTN shop appear to show that the delay is with Vodacom, even though it is a prepaid number. How is this possible? MTNDD, any help?
