The networks can send me as much advertising as they like. AS long as I get a reduction in my cell phone bill at the same time. If they are going to keep the money they can get stuffed.

I see that is how it works internationally...they give you free minutes/sms/mms in return for spamming you...interesting concept. It must however be very controlled environment otherwise I will be hesitant to give them the go ahead!

Yeah. I don't think I'd go for this, under normal circumstances. But what you could see happening is not so much discounts for those who sign up, but increases for those who don't (not marketed as such, of course, but that would be basic effect).
