Just wondering, is a modem firmware downgrade possible? Has anybody tried with pre Feb 2005 firmware?

It probably is possibly to manually load an old firmware version, but if WBS still have that OTA firmware update going, then you'd just endup with whatever firmware they want you to use...

Yeah, but I also hoped that they messed up the OTA, especially with the super slow speeds :D

The pre-feb firmware was brilliant. All my problems started the day they updated the firmware OTA, thats when the disconnections started. Prior to that it worked perfectly. Tried flashing back however the network just dumps the new firmware for you again.

yes you can downgrade firmware, you either flash the rom (its a plain arm proccessor so much like doing a phone or other arm devices) or you do it over the air, but both ways are a waste of time because its too much work for somethign that wont change that much... also you never know what sort of authentication information is sent so you may disable everything completly

They check and replace firmware once a day. Not shure at what time.
