How am I overreacting? This is an ongoing issue with this breed. They are always in the news. This very incident also states that these two dogs snapped and mauled these children for 10 minutes and a grown woman could not wrestle the dogs off her children.

That is not an overreaction. That is a risk which could be mitigated by not owning this breed. It's pretty simple.
Blame the media then.

*facepalm*

Think you should try understanding the process a bit more before you make these comments. I have a legal background, so please do not think you are somehow schooling me when you do not even understand what the Sheriff of the Court does.
He is correct.

You can ask someone nicely or with threatening attorney letters to pay for damages, but if they don't it goes to court, or you can give up.

Your insurance could maybe do this on your behalf in some cases, but same process.

No ****, hey Rietrot?

If you pay any attention, this is what I take issue with. Next time you want to sue for damages for something grievous that was done to you through no fault of your own, come and tell me it is a fair process.

always willing to stack it up against anything else that disputes it. remember this is from a viewpoint of pure pitbull breeds NOT Mixed..........so it's quite a fair comparison. When it comes to the mixed breeds........well thats another story and i wouldnt be able to justify owning one but from all the available data pure breeds (the basic 5) rank quite low on the scale when it comes to fatalities per 100k dogs...

and yeah, i've got one, 3rd in my lifetime.........had 1 **** around and find out moment...........bin scratcher got pulled through the gate somewhat, wife was in the front yard, dog thought person was trying to break in.....

So what I got wrong ? Why are you facepalming ?

That is the legal process. What you expect to happen just go out and shoot the dogs and then expect people to pay you?

The case will have to investigated and so forth.

You seem triggered maybe calm down and explain where I'm wrong?

Outsurance gonna pay the 200K minimum to bring forth a civil on my behalf? That is awfully nice of them.

For starters, one does not lay charges with the Sheriff of the Court. The Sheriff of the Court executes all documents issued by the courts. It's not like a Sheriff in the American movies.

Secondly, civil and criminal matters are very different and have completely different legal processes.

Yes I know that you have to go via the attorneys. When your LoD falls on deaf ears you take that to the sherif and then have your day in court

This is a conversation way beyond the scope of this thread. I didn't disagree. It is just not a pitbull problem.

Point 1and 2 in my previous post.

Millions of "pitbulls" exist and interact with kids daily.
Millions of cats exist and interact with kids daily, yet **somehow** you can't find a statistical trend of cats killing children.
