Money Problems

Hi Guys,

I have been playing GW for the last couple of months and still I can’t accumulate enough cash/gold for nice armor/amber. I have tried the farming route but that is really boring and time consuming.

Any other suggestions on how to increase my cash?

hhhmmm.
I dont have a money problem and I am not doing any farming at all, just doing normal missions (which give gold as rewards), picking up dropped items, selling and salvaging stuff.
That's it.
You can try farming for green weapons and selling them?
Or faction farming and trading it for amber jadeite's and then selling? Do some of those repeating missions in Ferndale / Maishang Hills for earning faction if you dont wanna do Alliance Battle.
Farming for ecto's in Underworld maybe?
Options are endless really :D

Do some 'GuildWarMugging'. Start a mission and when you are halfway threaten everyone to pay you 500 gold or you quit. (Just make sure you are the strongest player or else no one will care).

PS: I've never tried/attempted this and just came up with it now.

funny, you should mention this....

I actually heard of people selling their services for missions in return for gold.
I have heard this about monks, for instance.

Then just last week I had a lvl18 warrior, wanting to sell his services for 200gp to help me in doing Quimang's Last Stand. HAHA :D

Said no of course, he ended up coming along for free anyway and managed to die a couple of times, and I didn't. :p

I actually did see this type of advertisement in other towns as well. I mean, really, people are even trying to exploit noobs in the game by advertising to run them to Kaineng from The Marketplace

Yes, I think I should start those Kaineng from the Marketplace runs. I cannot think of easier cash, since one can run all the way without being attacked.

What exactly is "farming".

I have managed to get myself to lvl18 so far but I see people selling weapons for 50K -> 100K and here I am running around with 2K, I was also wondering how you get that much cash.

Farming is killing monsters for their drops and cash, rather than to progress through the game story missions and quests. 100K is a lot of money for most players in the game. I think I saw a statistic once from Arenanet that most players had less than 10K.

That 50-100k is most often weapons / items that are very rare / unique or very sought after, hence the high prices.
It has actually become a joke the prices that are being asked, 100k+xxx ecto's, etc. People just make up any amount and then try and flog it. Exploitation at its best :D

On farming :

1. The trolls and avacara ouside Droks. Kill them all and you seem to bypass the farming code and get fairly good drops. I normally make about 1 - 2.5K per run
2. The Minotaurs in Elona's reach area ( doesnt pay that well )
3. The avacara outside Port Sledge ( millions of them , normally given a nice quantity of stuff to sell / salvage.

I farm with a W/Mo build . After a great deal of effort i can make it work for me with minimal effort. I have everything i need for a 55 build , but find my build works better.

I find my best runs are when we go as a Guild and clean out a place liek Sorrows Furnace . Normally get 1K in straight cash and about 3-5K in salvagables as well as a few greens/golds.

So I have been stuffing around with my w/mo build and came up with this one
It works really well if you want to cause some serious damage quickly you need a healer in you party for this hehehehehehe
Here is the skill set

Balanced Stance
Berserker Stance
Battle Rage
3 Adrenaline based attacks
2 Healing based skills

So what I do is I run to a target, start of with balanced stance as soon as I give
The first hit I use berserker stance then hit battle rage and I use the adrenaline based attacks and I keep on doing that this keeps my energy levels up for healing skills.

What do you guys think this is for PvE?
