Refreshed Vauxhall Insignia range features 227bhp GSi flagship

New high-performance version of Vauxhall's large hatchback introduced

Vauxhall has confirmed the updated 2020 version of the Insignia large family car will be headlined by a 227bhp 2.0-litre GSi performance model.

The flagship GSi model, which was unveiled at the Brussels motor show, is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that also produces 258lb ft of torque at 1500-4000rpm. The power is delivered through a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The high-performance hatchback has also been fitted with four-wheel drive that utilises a torque vectoring system, which aids handling in corners, according to Vauxhall. The GSi also gets Brembo four-piston brakes, new adaptive FlexRide suspension and tweaks to the steering.

I'm sure people have seen the ad in the classifieds. I first wanted to get rid of the car as I have no space for it but now I am considering possibly having it on a dealership's showroom floor (thats how confident I am of the condition of this car). This model car was the Car of the Year...

It does not only have to be in Cape Town you know. They can build two museums for it, one in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg.

Legend has it that the Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160GSi Car Of The Year 1991 can drive from Johannesburg to Cape Town in reverse with the windows down, without an auxiliary fuel tank like the plebian E30 BMW, on one tank for petrol - WITH THE A/C ON.

I remember reading an article back in 2019 where the City of Cape Town upgraded the Madiba statue at City Hall to carry the Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160GSi Car Of The Year 1991.
