More e-toll gantires for Joburg road users

I do hope that this system will fail soon. What more do we need to do?

Does anyone know how long it will take before the system crashes if over 50% of the people do not pay over a certain amount of time, based on international case studies etc?

A guy phoned 702 on friday saying his licence had been refused because he hadn't paid his e-toll account.

702 claim they'll have the legality discussed on air on monday's show, i.e. between 6:00 and 9:00am. John Robbie.

Swine!

Sanral does not see us as customers, they see us as source of revenue – Wayne Duvenhage.

Where are the alternate routes to these tolls? I dont see any shown on these maps. This confirms that they are only looking for revenue to bankrupt the uses, so Government can become bigger fat cats and to subsidize their homes and pockets. What an embarrassment to Government. It is amazing how the old Government kept roads so well, and todays the Government after 20yrs still can't maintain the roads without more revenue. All I see today is pot holes wherever you go. Total Embarrassment to themselves.

Sanral is economical ... with the truth

road signs indicate that it is a tolled road
This is frequently not true: there are signs that indicate "toll road" on stretches that are not tolled. The "toll road" sign is an unreliable indicator of whether the road is actually tolled. People cannot rely on this sign.
The method of payment and the toll tariff notice boards near the gantries are in place, as per the legal requirement.
You can't pay at the gantry, so they don't comply. No amount of wordplay makes this legal.

The government quietly removed the legal requirement for an alternative route before starting this project
