I welcome anyone who wishes to emigrate... frees up opportunities for the rest of us in this "Schithole™"

Got the matric, but no degree.

Been unemployed for three months now - it's becoming a reality that I'll only find employment outside SA borders.

I'm not running away from my home country, but nobody here wants to employ me

My company has had two waves of Section 189 retrenchments in 2020 and 2021. No surprise that those of us left behind are doing more work for the same pay (Covid lockdowns have given companies the upperhand when it comes to discussing money).

I would resign right now if I was confident that I would find something quickly, but that isn't the case as jobs are tough to come by (I am applying and have been for a few interviews).

So, I'm happy to have a job but very unhappy with the conditions.

Even if you had a degree you would either end up unemployed or getting grossly under paid.

I feel for you.

I'm job-hunting myself and even entry-level positions seem to demand degreed candidates.

Either way that's on an upward trend, the squeeze is inevitable you don't need to be a fortune teller to predict this...

So you suggesting those who seek opportunity elsewhere by emigrating should stay and help pay tax? whomever replaces him/her will fill that pocket in the "Schithole". It's called capitalism... aka musical chairs.

If we want to ease this bleeding economy we need to unite(exploit) the rest of the continent, its a dog eat dog world...

Ah goody, the arseholes bosses' treatment of employees in SA coming back to bite.
How is that going for you, motherfuckers in Gauteng that I worked for, all those companies that I left with arsehole bosses:
Steve, have you got Parkinson's yet? Nice to not remember what you said to me, shall I remind you, p0es?
Reinard, have you had a heart attack yet from all those McD burgers you chomp smiling while trying to have me fired because I legit complained about intolerable working conditions

Nope, I am in a stable job working for people who aren't arseholes. Well we've been acquired by a bunch but for now I am OK thanks very much.

But I can understand what the article is about, and what I observe from friends and family.
