Hi,

I'm moving my parents away from Telkom Dialup to MTN PrePaid databundles (GPRS - they only use it for email and speed is of no concern). Saving per month will be close to R150.

Is it already possible to get more than one 10MB databundle per month on a single SIM or is multiple SIM's still a requirement?

Thanks

Multiple SIM's - We don't offer multiple bundles as yet

Load them on the 100MB bundle at R80.00 - This will still be a big saving since they do not have to a pay a internet subscribtion of between 60 and 100 per month and they will save on the telkom calls as well.

Ouch!

Educating the elderly will be a lovingly but hard task:D

It was hard enough to educate them to the wonders of email via Telkom analogue modem. At least one could show the wires used to transfer data.

It was hard enough to educate them that data could move without wires.

But educating them that one can't have more than 1 DB will be very hard as they believe computers can do anything they are told to

As there is no roll over, it would be a waste of money.

They check their email regularly, and that is the main cost driver - many Telkom connections.

I doubt if they would do 20MB per month.

In that case, a single bundle should be sufficient...
First 10MB @ R1/MB = R10
Second 10MB @ R2/MB = R20
Total cost = R30

Still a good deal IMO.

Yeah, it saves them from having to check if they have used up a bundle. They can just get a 10 MB per 30 day subscription (meaning it loads automatically again after 30 days) and make sure they keep the balance above say R20 by dialling *141#

If they are emailing, you should check if they're not popping their emails. If so, they may be downloading all the spam as well. Maybe there's a more elegant solution, but webmail is a solution - Gmail for me, but Gmail can be slow over GPRS.
