Been watching a bit of this. This really speaks to the wilful destruction of the West that this retard is allowed, almost encouraged to make a mockery of civility and rules. Expect more of it now that the Big Floyd racial reckoning has come to be.

He has adopted this ridiculous 'sovereign citizen' nonsense, essentially he expects to get off from murdering all of those people simply for being black. Note no media hype for this particular trial.

2) It absolutely should be the biggest thing in the news. How can a mass murderer's trial not be news?
3) Him doing the sovereign citizens BS renders him competent to be his own council.

I do stand to be corrected, but I think this is very likely the most serious case where a "sovereign citizen defence" has been used. Usually it is for some B.S like not having licence plates.

I think so too, usually in a case of this magnitude someone would talk the accused down from making such a silly defense, maybe everyone around Brooks just wants him to crash and burn.

Not really. Public defence lawyers are used to dealing with the scum of society like Brooks. His mother didn't want him to defend himself.

But unfortunately for her, Brooks has shown he is completely able to make reasoned and competent decisions for himself. He managed to raise and sustain an objection against the prosectors (for something trivial, but the point still stands).

He is simply a psychopath. He knew exactly what he was doing.
