Rather than death row a more modern approach should perhaps include a ban from all social media & news? This would likely lead to better reform than actual incarceration in our times?

      • The DA that set this bail, John Chisolm, is somewhat of a progressive hero.
      • Jeffrey Toobin praised Chisolm in 2015 for his reforms. SOURCE: TheNewYorker
      • The reforms were aimed at lowering the number of African-Americans in prison.

I wouldn't overthink this, once we have all the facts these black bastions of morality will tell us all what to think.

Your comment upon which my reply was based - was not specific to this case.
Keep a shoplifter in prison for 6 months awaiting trial, and he may graduate as a car thief or hijacker.

In this particular case, if posted prior history is correct, there should be no bail.
In my own opinion, if the case involves wilful person to person violence, corroborated by witness statements, there should be no bail.

No one is advocating for keeping people in prison for so long for petty crimes like shoplifting. I doubt is happens often these days anyway.

But as always with Progressive policies, they go too far.
