Corona Virus didn't come.

Lockdown came.

The government did a good job already convincing people that Corona Virus did this to them. No, lockdown destroyed or crippled your company.
Exactly, so tired of headlines like ‘COVID 19 hits the economy hard’ etc. No, the GOVERNMENT shutting down all economic activity is doing that.

And the media is largely responsible too. People were freaking out for the weeks leading up to the lockdown which brought large parts of the economy to a snail's pace. I saw that in my retail sector for sure- the month of march leading up to lockdown was terrible. Whilst jan and feb were actually pretty decent.

Have they done a study to compare projected deaths from covid19 (with various lockdown levels) vs poverty levels to inform the conclusion?

In fact, it is very strange that the topic with this virus has covered all the others and we really do not see or hear any other news. Yes, this is all serious enough and we have to be careful, but why not muffle this endless flow of information...?

If the government gave everyone R100 000, free of charge, no strings attached, there will be people and institutes that will find room to complain and criticize.

Because that will be stupid. Money has value exactly because not everyone has R100k. images.jpg
