Got the missus a new appliance for the kitchen, sure it will stand just outside the back door but still it's for the kitchen.

Makro is having a spring special so managed to pick this up for free.

OK, technically it cost R2k instead of R4k+ and I paid for it using ucount but no money went out of my bank.

^^^Probably having those things on special because the meat will keep on falling of the side. Unless it's a lambsrib griller.

Very nice. How was it and where did you buy it from?

Excellent...juicy and tender... but expensive. Around R1200 per kg.
It's halaal and gets imported from Australia by a butcher friend when he has a few people keen on it.

Not sure if anyone aware of locally bred and sourced halaal wagyu?

Halal would be the problem, but there is a farm with wagyu beef being bred in the cape somewhere

Beef Short Ribs turned out quite nice, though I think if you dont choose the right quality of beef it could turn out tough...this was'nt and makes a great alternative to pork belly...
