The stuff I've been getting this winter from my guy is all the dead gum from plantations that were burnt out in the Knysna fire four years ago. Dry as dust, but burns fast.

What are the best woods to use for braaing?
I tend to use kameeldoring because I can find it.
Is there anything else worth making special effort to find? Either better quality or better value?

Kameeldoring and Sekelbos are the two best IMO.
More expensive yes, but the coals last forever.
Also burns slower so more time for beer.
