Lamb turned out beautifully. That stickiness from slowly broken down fat that you get from well prepared oxtail is prevalent at every bite.

Also experimented with some sides based on a recipe a friend sent to me. Mashed potatoes with a cube is cheese inside, coated in panko, wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Not bad, but too much effort for result IMHO. Still fun experimenting though

BF got retrenched recently, leave pay of 70 odd days just paid out.....

I literally somehow in my head updated resigned to retrenched because the company he was at was very clearly headed down the drain , and that happened to me not too long ago He resigned because he got a job offer, thankfully, before that happened to him. Between him and I the last 2 years have been a rollercoaster work wise. But thanks for the thoughts though guys, appreciated

Then started by trying out a milk chocolate infused stout from sab. At the same time using it with a beer bread.

Food will be steak, wors and a starter

Next beer is good ol lion

The beer was decent. A hint of chocolate smell before first sip. The beer taste itself initially is that of a smooth easy stout,not as strong as guineas, with some chocolate after taste. Easy to drink for a stout.

As a side note, anyone know why I get heartburn these days when drinking? Cut back on the drinking or try and drink it away?

It's a nice one that, glad you like it. Try eating something fatty before having a few? An empty stomach on booze may cause some reflux. Take a gaviscon and keep drinking
