I have a spare 3kg as well so will just rotate them

You know you're probably going to use the same amount of gas cooking for one as for two or more.

Theoretically yes, but when I do have friends over they talk so much kak that we forget we are braaing and often only put the meat on at 10pm. So preheating a Weber Q for 3 hours just seems silly

Besides, you're thinking charcoal. With the Q there's only a 10-15 minute pre-heat. Like dating.

Yeah I did a 30 minute preheat other day for a pizza and temp wasnt even high.

That was night number 1
Next day I cleaned the burner properly and used a paperclip to clean out all 300 burner holes, I could see that night the flames on full throttle was around 10mm high as opposed to 6 or 7mm previous evening.
