Our household was the same, but kids are raised differently these days.

Last week was my nephews 6th birthday. My BIL (his dad) arranged a party for him at the house and during the week the kiddo said he wanted boerie rolls for all his friends that came to the party.

I stood in the sun braaing for all these kids, and just before it was ready the kid tells my BIL that he wants mcdonalds for all his friends. Without a moment of hesitation my BIL buys mcdonalds on mrD for the kids and just like that half the boeries go to waste.
