Oops

I left my spots switched on 2 days ago on the bike, turn the key on, and totally dead. Measured the battery and read 2 volts. Yikes, put the battery charger on, and nothing. Try another smaller CTek charger and it starts charging. 3 minutes later switch back to a bigger charger and she is charging.

I wonder if I have nuked the battery or not? Either way, the battery will never be trusted again to start a bike on a cold morning  Will check at 9am if the bike starts.

Depending on battery you will be fine, if need be jump start off a car, the ride to Cape Town should charge it up enough (do the ride with the extra spots turned off). Worst comes to it you can always push start the bike, hills/slopes are your friend.

Yeah a run start doesn't work on modern modern bikes. When I turned the key on the dashboard was totally dead. The computer needs to boot up and the fuel pump needs to inititate before engine starts. I think Im gonna risk it and see how it goes, I would rather break down somewhere today and get a bud to come help than be stranded tomorrow and everyone is at work

It's a tiny battery so hopefully has enough charge now, gonna go downstairs and see if it swings over, I can still catch up after my slow hiking group

How modern? I still got away with it on a 2006 Suzuki. Good luck.
