Ok, it's confession time for this wood fire only snob.
I've only had the weber for a few days and man, it's really amazing.

It's different, I almost don't want to call it braaing - since to me that requires a lekker kuier fire - but damn it makes for some yummy smokey goodness. I know some guys braai with wood on their weber but it doesn't seem like that is recommended. I wouldn't want to make a habit of using my weber as a wood braai.

I consider it maybe just another tool in the outdoor cooking arsenal, there's things you can do on there that you just can't on a normal open braai.

The drip tray. Not fun to clean
The weber Q has a fat trap but you can buy small drip trays that fit perfectly. Otherwise it's easy to clean.

I get the distain for gas - there's no one to blame but yourself if you stuff up your braai. You don't run out of heat (as long as you don't run out of gas) , you don't have unpredictable hot spots to burn your food. It heats up quickly so you can't use that as an excuse for getting drunk... eff it up and it's all on you.

Time to rename the thread to the Weber thread :p

Pork chops again. Two are done before, rubbed. One is marinaded in coffee, garlic, red wine vinegar and some other **** I can't remember. Also threw on some pork sausages.

Takealot also dropped off some goodies :)
