the wife has demanded i cremate something on this contraption. might do two birds Saturday. one hot and sticky and one bek brand. although it is the little ones birthday. might have to dial down the bek brand.

there are only two ways I eat flightless pumpkins on the braai.... 1. beer chicken, 2. spit.

And please people, this isn't 'merica... it's a blerrie spit, not a "rotisserie", just like it's a sosatie not "kebab", braai not "barbeque", boerewors not "sausage", braaibroodjie not "toasted tomato, onion and cheese"....

At work, when I got invited to the local bowling club across the road tonight.

A pal's 51nd Birthday, they found a log that had broken off a tree and are gonna ignite it whilst we cook meat on the hot coals...

I have work tomorrow, even though the day be deemed a public holiday......

I was'nt part of the conversation, the guy with the tie on at a braai is the local Dominee and he was talking about somebody called Margaret Van something or other....

Found this of interest last night...

After everyone finished braaing, one ou brings out his bak with a steak covered in olive oil, reckons the steak had been laying in the oil for 24 hours.......

Then chucks it on the fire for 1 minute..... flames everywhere..... and it came to pass that the steak was cooked...

Not my cup of tea, but interesting...



Everytime that I go to this club, I never get to braai my own meat, there are two braai drums and the meat get's braai'd in waves with four okes standing around with tongs that just dop, turn and chat.........



Looks like I will be braaing again after work at 13H00.....Namibian Time......

One minute? Nooit. I like it medium but not skirt of blood, that medium rare look like they cut the meat, drained the blood and slapped it on the plate.

The false summer has arrived....

After four days of berg winds, temp above thirty degrees on the cel scale..... Saturday is predicted at thirty three dregrees.... Off to work until one and then I will come home and open. The porty pool, dragging my braai drom next to the fire....Me and lastbornMoose are gonna swim with icebergs and burn some meat...

I managed to pick up a few pkts of Ollies sausage whilst down in the Cape of Good Hope last week..... Gonna try a pkt..... Also found a pkt od rump Skilppadtjie that seemed interesting and dug out a pkt of AP Steyn's famous Southern Nam lamb.....



A couple of beers and warm up for tonights test...

This okie, can cook a lamb on a spit like boggerall..... He once had 13 lambs on a spit going at the same time, Argentinian style....

He walked past me about thirty minutes ago, I noticed a whole lamb in his trolley, on enquiring where he was watching the test tonight.... He said, quietly, alone....nothing going on...... Yeah! Right! Him and that lamb sitting on the couch sober watching the game! :erm:
