Yes, the Cape. It always feels weird/'wrong' when I hear Joburg people use the same expression.

Die vleiswinkel, Protea Heights. I always buy their sosaties, yet to be disapointed.

Tis' Friday and I have a three day weekend...

1) Check Weather report , wind blowing.... Screw that, wind schmind!
2) Check Wood Supply, 15 x 12 kg bags ..... Tic that.....
3) BLitz! ...... "Present Sir!"
4) Booze Stock...... 24 x 440ml WHK Draught, 1x330ml Urbock, 1 x750ml Son of James...
5) Check Rugger Schedule...... Yawn!
5) Read email on WTD list from The English HO

:crying: :( :erm:
Aaagh! School Function for Spring Schming at 16h00 ...... Smack bang in the middle of Braai time.... /Cancel braai for now...

I also note that it would seem we are going to a 60th Birthday party on Saturday...... "60th ..... feck when did I get to this milestone, what happened to all the 18th and 21st parties? " .......Moose thinks unto himself.......

"Oh! Hang on.... I see my Dutchman neighbour is also having a birthday braai tomorrow........ , Oooh! Two parties in a day, this might go somewhere....", Moose brightens up....... only to realise that apon reading an email, there is another duneride on tomorrow also..... my mate wants me to go with and to bring the draught machine.......

Gee! Who said it was lonely in the desert......

:D

Early Saturday morn, misty and cold, just like that okie from yon Bible book, I arose from my bed..... no hangover.... seeing as I did not partake in the ritual known as suiping ....... The English HO had brought me a famous Mortymug of Coffee in bed, so I must have done good.....

Just been informed the 60th is off, somebody got sick....

Will be braaing in the mid afternoon whilst watching my Cheetah's play Mr.D's team...... whilst flicking channels to watch my other team Sarries over the ocean....

You all have a greaaaaaaaat! Saturday, coz this here Moose is gonna....

My GF gifted me a 57cm Weber (full model, not compact) for my birthday.

I'm thinking of giving it a spin tomorrow - anything I should be aware of?

Any tips or tactics for best usage?

Thanks,

A mate of mine brought his Weber around to my house before he "gifted" me on that he had won in a local draw....

The biggest tip he gave me , if you are cooking with the lid on.... don't keep opening it to see how your meat is coming along.... you will feck it up...

.... and as Fanie always pointed out.... work with a thermometer ........ I cannot emphasize this enough...... you will never overcook and dry meat out in the process again....

Yeah but give more detail on the thermometer part of things.
I usually cook between 150 and 250 c and do check regularly but... need more info based on what is being prepared.

Will be using my thermo tomorrow, doing a slow smoked Asian style pork roast for lunch. Tonight it's lamb curry (wife is quiet in the kitchen...)
