Quick question... I prefer to braai with wood, but as a rule that's for the planned stuff :) Everynow and then I feel like doing some steaks or just a quick braai , but without the time-consuming part associated with a wood fire. So normally I would use the charcoal Weber Kettle, but this is also now on its very last legs. Been toying with the gas braai idea, but wife isn't to keen on gas due to an unfortunate incident years ago. So I've been looking at the Weber Q-2400 electric braai as a replacement, seeing that Takealot have them on special

Any comments ?
Link. And for what purpose? Just steaks?

Maybe replacing the functionality of the Weber as well... cooking under the hood, etc . Loved putting a flattie in a baksakkie on the Weber. Close up and come back 90 min later :) But I think mainly to complement my normal open fire braai activities

Can it do indirect cooking?

Don't think so , but maybe the use of a roasting rack can simulate the indirect portion. Not too fussed about that, as I think the majority will be direct grilling
Don't think you'll be able to put something on and then walk away...

I have an alva cast iron gas braai which works a lot better i think. Best steaks you'll ever make.
Yip, but as per my 1st post

If I want her to use it as well, it won't be gas
