The fish product that you speak of does not speed up the brewing process. It is used to filter the yeast that is suspended in the beer. You see when brewing beer the yeast ferments your wort, turning the sugar in the barley into alcohol. This filtering process is done because the excess yeast can leave a yeast aftertaste in the beer. It can also give the beer a cloudy appearance. The fish swim bladder, isinglass, is used to filter the excess yeast.

Today uv light can also be used to filter the beer. http://www.surepureinc.com/1-sure_pure_science.html

Thanks. Read that 15 years ago ...

Eish... the thing... wiff the meat... on the braai... no no no... and don't tell me it's to keep the meat warm... it shouldn't be there... if the meat is done, that's why it's in the casserole... no use you put it back on the fire...

holy schit, what happened? so much garden.... :(

I love a bit of slaai and that one was particularly awesome. Lots of feta and olives with a nice creamy sauce to boot.

But fark, it's a funny old day when a Scotsman is telling a Boer to eat his greens :wtf:

Lol so now you know. Boertjies feel nothing for salad. Meat!

We had this Afrikaaner that worked with us for a number of years, was a farmer boy coming from the Aranos area near the Red Kalahari by the Nam/Botswana border. The chap is built big and strong and has never chowed fruit or veg in his life. Always braaimeat/meat with pap, potato or rice....... and he has always been healthy....

Exactly. I'm healthy. Kinda. I weigh over 120kg, but I'm healthy. LOL

The closest we get to salad at a braai is Potato salad, or Fanie's world famous Curry Noodle Salad. Think it's time I make that salad again, it's been too long.

I have never understood the aversion to vegetables and salads.
Perhaps it's the way people are brought up.

Must be. Or not. My sister loves veggies, my mom as well. My dad eats everything except cucumber. I don't eat any veggies at all. I just can't get them into my mouth. They taste crap. I truly have no idea how people can stomach vegetables.

So do you really not eat them? So your diet is like truly meat, pasta, rice, and potatoes?
Do you take supplements?

Are you REALLY healthy?

yep, don't eat nothing veggie.

except for being overweight, i'm not too bad. sugar levels are normal, blood pressure a little high (but that's because i'm overweight), cholesterol is normal. planning to start running to get my weight levels down, but other than that, i'm fine.

I also seldom eat veggie, but am a nutter for Brussel Sprouts........ Could just eat them alone...

Tomorrow, is a public holiday up here, finish work at 13h00, not too sure if I should do a Weber lamb ala' Spizz or Something on the Rotisserie , the weather looks bad, maybe push the boundaries and trash HO's kitchen indoors rather....
