Apparently it's going to be nice and sunny, and more importantly dry, in Hermies this weekend so in antici.....

....... pation of a killer braai, I bought some hickory wood chips for the Weber today.

Any suggestions for what to smoke in there?

Just so we are all clear, this IS a campaign and it will be won. By Moose. You read this thread? Partake? Upload your stupid braai pics? Then pack your legos away and go vote...

The free-range, grass fed Namibian beef braais, Namibian Breweries best on the side and the picturesque Oranjemund. Man I miss South-West! Thanks Morty.

Ok! Not too sure what all that voting stuff is for, but thanks for the vote of confidence, you may all get your Lego pieces out as the weekend is almost apon us.....

Now! If you are serious about your fires and Webers, you would surely know that by Thurday morn, you should have countless ideas in your head on what you plan to cremate on Saturday and Sunday, the most important thing to look at would be the upcoming weather..... as indicated for my wee town below.....

weather planner.jpg

Now as indicated above, the weather appears to be fine, high temps, but due to the location of being in the corner of the desert, if the wind comes from the east, NE or North, we get the infamous Namib East Wind, which looks like the photo's below... (taken during last years east wind season)

It does not matter if you have an indoor braai room like a lot of dutchman have up here, this fine desert sand gets in everywhere...

So In essence, I will be waiting till 12h00 Friday, before disclosing this weekends intentions...

Oh! off course you can still drink without the braai!

There's no use trying to protest, we are in the minority. I think I will also vote for Morty. Rather him than one of the circlejerk members.

HO makes it with puff pastry, stuffed with grated cheese, mayo and chutney, they taste blerrie lekker also, reckon the sky is the limit with filling options..

I take mushrooms, bacon, garlic, onions fie it up nicely and put in some spinach leaves right at the end.
Roll out the puff pastry and put that mix on with loads of cheese. Cover it. and on the braai.

Goes down like a dream.
