Cheapest cars in South Africa that can drive 20 kilometres on a litre

Several budget cars in South Africa can drive 20 kilometres or more on a single litre of fuel.

Although petrol and diesel prices have come down in September, they are still much higher than they were for most of 2022.

My 2c says the best value option of the lot is the new Celery (Celerio). It’s an all new model and has astoundingly low running costs & good feature set incl ESP.

i have Suzuki Espresso, the AMT and consistently >23-24Km/L.... but then it its about 50/50 of highway driving and suburban.
but on the flip side, the thing is shaped like like brick, so on highway must be terrible aerodynamics
guess i should be thankful it can reach and exceed manufacturer claim, doesnt happen often i spose

320d is the best all rounder. No other car even comes close. It ticks every box.
