Haha when I was in High school a few years ago they had to ask US (the students) how to block sites...and you wonder why the education levels in SA are so low:erm:

In the first part of last year, facebook wasn't blocked at wits. People would stay on that thing for ages while those of us who had important stuff to do (like download porn) had to sit and wait for them to finish. Then facebook got blocked and the computer labs were always empty i.e there was always one or two pcs free.

At the company I work for, Facebook was blocked for years during working hours. A few months ago the CEO decided to use it to post random company updates and it is unblocked.

Talking about blocking websites: Wish someone would write a Chrome extension that block websites and even prevent them from opening...

Youtube during working hours and probably other sites. They're pretty anal here though, shaming people who have spent a certain amount of time on particular websites. The company I used to work for didn't block anything...and I never heard of a lot of complaints from IT.

I know a ex-Unisa IT guy. He blocked all the porn sites, but was asked by the administration to open access to some as some professors was complaining about it.

When I work properly I will work in a place that doesn't block anything.
