That car must be slow as heck, to put it in perspective, its slower than a Tazz.

My 1L ecoboost outputs 75kw (95HP)
Your ecoboost is a turbo. Easy to get that power. Also what is the price of your ecoboost new ?

The Tazz was a 1.3l carb motor and it could do 55kw which isn't great. Sure the 1.6 could do 79

The auto box has no P ? How do you stop it rolling it away if you forget the parking/hand brake which doesn't seem to be automatic either?

It was also bigger and heavier, my feeling is that the Celerio should be faster, the Yaris had the 1.0l engine but felt more nippy than the Tazz, the gearing and power to weight is better on the newer cars.

Forward - Reverse
Right - Neutral
Back - Drive
Middle - Park

That gear is in N. There is no "middle"

I also ask because a friend of mine hired a Suzuki overseas recently and it also had no P in an automatic. He kept having to leave it in Neutral, and then if it was what appeared to be a flat surface he'd get out and it would start rolling.. then he remembered to put the handbrake on. He tried moving the lever left or right, the gear selector never shows P<ark>

If you look in this picture, there is no P in the middle either left or right - the level is in the middle in N.

There's also this article:

It seems they want you to park it "in gear".

Must be aimed at females. We all know they can't park.

@marvelguy "dom" is a strong word.

For many people buying in this segment is due the fact they like the concept of new, why? It (should) mean no hassle/issues for a good few years & if there are they are fully covered.

Not totally disagreeing with your 2/3 & 4 yr old choices but it is always relative. What may work for you & me may not necessarily work for Micheal & Peggy.

People are indeed dom, fully agreed, that's the reason mediocre cars like that cost over R200k in SA.

Yeah I agree. Many people like their cars new. I'm one of them. Also, retail pricing is subjecting. Some dealers will prob offer "specials" and knock-off a good 20k from that price tag to make it competitive.

Let me put it this way.

Would you rather be in an accident in the Celerio or one of the cars I posted?
