Most fuel-efficient cars in South Africa — with prices

South African motorists looking for a car that is light on fuel to save some money on their daily commutes have various options from which to choose, with some cars offering fuel consumption figures as low as 4.0 litres per 100km.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy recently announced a big fuel price hike in February 2024, and predictions are that another hike is on the cards for March.

The most fuel efficient car is one that uses 0l/100km. An electric car

Yup besides that EV also means all the baggage that owing one comes with.

You mean less baggage because you can’t fit as much in the boot because of the giant battery needed

Why even put polo's in any article. Even if they were 100k new, the insurance alone on them would make it the most expensive car of the lot.

The fact that the Vivo and the T-Cross are within R50k of one another is shocking.

VW have forgotten how to make affordable cars.

So we're just going to believe the manufacturer's claims? I doubt any of those cars is going to get close to 4l/100km in the real world.

They quote 4.1 for the Corolla Cross Hybrid.
Mate in CT has one and over 36000km he has averaged 5.1.

Still good, but not as good as claimed.

This is basically a list of all the **** boxes I get stuck behind in traffic.
