How much do you guys think you would need to spend to get a decent runabout? Reading that MMM blog, I think I need to make some drastic changes, and one of the things I think I need to change is my car.

But, do you think a R60k car such as a Toyota Yaris with 100000km on the clock is going to be reliable? Or a Hyundai Getz? Or Polo.

Yeah I would also like to hear peoples views on this.

Wifey has a Yaris with around 130 000 km. Yeah not a rattle, issue so far, feels like it'll go forever. Pretty economical too.
No electric windows, central locking though.

What in your opinion, is the most ideal MMM-lifestyle first car?

for those who dont know who Mr Money Mustache is:

I prefer an early 2000s car, the less electrical in it the better,so I like say a 2001 Corolla E110:

What are your choices and motivation?

If you want to save money then get a scooter or cheap bike instead of a car unless you have family.

No electric windows, central locking though - minor inconveniences, cheaper to fix as well
