Humans should definitely be on the chart...

The list of 100 top species (from ISSG) can be seen here. Note that only one species from each genus is listed - so for example: although many of the Acacia species are devastatingly invasive, only Acacia mearnsii is mentioned. Similarly for the numerous invasive pine species - only Pinus pinaster is included in the list.

Some interesting (but obvious) inclusions - kitties, grey squirrels, rinderpest and Indian mynas, but kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum) is not on the list (yet). So hectically invasive in wetlands - but maybe not yet on continents other than Africa.

Homo sapiens = number one invader!

Thanks for posting rpm!!

lol we not invasive :erm: we are dominant ... difference. We took the land with our intellect, we didnt hitch hike a ride to a new land.

I wouldve thought the most invasive species would of been some type of ant

So which way do you feel more dominated. When someone shuts your mouth with an intellectual and witty remark or when Buba the 8 foot neanderthal bends you over and has his way with you?

The animals are being dominant as well. Semantics I guess. :erm:

No animal can beat man on earth ... every tool man has created is at his disposal. A lion will pwn you but a lion wont pwn you if you have a shotgun :p

Yeah and if we run out of that then we can cannabalise.

We similar to pigs so I reckon humans might taste like BACON.

Long grass? Alone? Lions coming from all sides, and you with no way to load more than 8 shells into your pump action? I agree though. We are far more dominant on the whole than any other animal on the planet. If we so chose we could annihilate every species on the planet without suffering too many losses. At least until we starved to death. But my point is more that invasive, and dominant are the same thing. Regardless of how you came to the environment that you are now dominating.
