I saw this when I upgraded my sister-in-law's phone which was on mtn. I think only the RBM defys can upgrade using the updater.

Has anyone managed to sort out facebook contact sync on 2.2?

Good Day Tim182

The Motorola RBM Defy, does not have Blur.
Due to that, facebook contact sync will not be possible.

Regards

I'm on MTN and updated mine manually via the Motorola Update site: plug your phone in via USB, run the software and hey, presto!

Glad to hear it! i think it may have been because the sim wasn't in the phone... Did it wipe your contacts, apps etc?

No, but after the update you should do a hard reset. That will wipe all your data. Before you start make you sure you enable Automatic Backup and sync all your contacts with Gmail.

:( Still no luck.

When I run the Motorola Update Manager it says this product is not supported by the motorola update manager

When I run the Mororola software update thing downloaded from the link at the beginning of this thread, it says there is no update available.

Any help would be appreciated!

Guys, don't bother wasting your time waiting for these people for your updates. Head over to xda and load a custom ROM.

Cool, thanks :) i'll do it this weekend then

Then please tell me as well. Not sure if it is the Vodacom branded Defy, but I am having NO luck.

Not sure if the MTB USB driver that is failing.

Can someone post a WORKING howto perhaps.

Windows 7 32 bit.

Thanx..
