If you're in Johannesburg/Pretoria/Centurion, just go to the Motorola shop in Vodaworld, Midrand.

I went there & the friendly oomie gave me the Phone Tools CD, USB data cable & Motorola pouch for free.

Can it possibly be true, in SA? What did you do to, or tell the friendly oomie?:D A friend of mine had to pay for it there at vodaworld. Thats why I cannot believe it.

Well, I was all 'dressed-up', suit & tie and whilst waiting for the oomie, a girl came in and I nearly sold a V3i to her.

I think the oomie was impressed?

AFAIK Motorola software is provided for free with all phones. Phones like the V360 didn't have the software in the box. If you got to motorola directly or phone them they will advise you that you can pick it up for free.

Motorola was the first Mobile to have all connections software for free and the rest followed.

Well thats news to me, my dad went to vodaworld yesterday, and he had to buy the cable and software for R250 at motorola. I think It's bad of them to sell it seperately.

Moto (in the past) have never had free tools, they were always 30-day trials. Only recently V3/V3x etc have I seen free tools being available.

See my post http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=711373#post711373
as i said there, to my knowledge you still have to purchase the Motorola Phone Tools software seperatly. I really recommend the website http://www.motomodders.net, they helped me out when I was rather noobish at this stuff, friendly ppl, lots of other free and helpful software, they won't help you find MPT tho, it being illegal and naughty and stuff ;)

Motomodders is a great web site! Downloaded their firmware, flashed my black V3 Razr - and now it can also do video recording. My V3 is now basically a V3i, without the memory card slot.

Motorola flashing

It would be nice to flash my v360v to be a 3g phone!:D I will check out motomodders to see if I can get rid of vodafonelive thing on my phone. I thought it will be a great site, but you even have to pay for news! I've seen somewhere else also I can get rid of it, and get iTunes in vodafones' place. I just wonder if I will then still be able to use edge on vodacom network.
