I'm due for an upgrade and wondering if this phone(q9h) is any good, i looked at the s710 but after reading many bad reviews and also coming to the conclusion that sliding bits and slow prossesor speeds are not to my liking. i decided that the motorola interface is much better and it has 3g etc. and also it has wm6 which is appealing to me. is anybody using this phone at present? and also if i want push email is there a special contract from vodacom?

I have a Samsung i600 now (after having both the HTC S620 and S710). IMO, it's worlds apart from the HTC smartphones.

I haven't played with a Motorolla Q9h, but I've never like Moto's - hence the Samsung. It's got 3G/HSDPA, seems to have much better memory (or memory management) than the HTC's and it just works beautifully. Also comes with a standard and extended battery - which gives you that flexibility for extended talk time for a business day (although it makes the phone slightly thicker) or a thin sexy phone for the weekend!

Well then someone got something right. The HTC felt much slower, and I always had to open the task manager to kill apps. With the samsung, I dont have to kill apps. Maybe it's down to better firmware?

The samsung feels much more solid tho...

I think most people will agree - don't buy a Motorola, they have the highest failure rate. Personally I recommend the Sony Ericsson P1i - also has 3G and Blackberry Connect (for push e-mail). If you have to get a Windows Mobile, you should go for a more expensive HTC.

I'll say it again. SAMSUNG i600.

Nah not a good phone in general, glad you like it, but theres better phones out there.

If I was this guy, Ill take the E61i or the BB 8310. Both good phones. No HSDPA but good.

Curious as to why? I had an E61 for about 3 days, I hated the thing. Comparing to my P990i, M600, HTC S620, HTC S710 - the samsung seems to be the most stable and so far hasn't crashed once!

i went to have a look at the e61 but i don't like the os and the sales guy said that the battery life is really really bad, i really don't like the bb8800 or even the bb8310 the software is just so annoying. the only thing that i like is the gps, but i don't need it. i really did not want to like the motorola cause i have had a really bad experience with theme, but i got to play with the q9h and it's just so smooth and quick the samsung is the same. i like keyboard on the motorola more. man i did not want to like it!
