The software for Motorola phones would be Mobile Phone Tools (my v1050 came with the cd). You can connect either via data cable or blue tooth through the installed software or use a dial up connection after installing the driver for your phone to use it as a modem.

Edit: Welcome to the forum:)

When your computer says "New hardware found" Select the modem from list. Choose Motorola v3, as yours will not be listed. This works well as does mine. You will then have to manualy setup your connection. First check START---CONTROL PANEL---SYSTEM---HARDWARE---DEVICE MANAGER and see if your modem is listed and working. Then:
Run "Connection Wizard" from CONTROL PANEL---NETWORK CONNECTION.
Leave PASSWORD and USER NAME blank.
ISP NAME. Enter "MTN Connection"
PHONE No. *99#
ALTERNATE NUMBER *99***3#
To enable SIM, dial *123*13#
Wait for SMS and download using Password 1234.
Go back to START---CONTROL PANEL---PHONE AND MODEM---MODEMS. Hihglight your modem.
Right click on it. PROPERTIES---MODEM--- ADVANCED.
In EXTRA INIT.COMMANDS field, enter in lower cassing;
at+cgdcont=1,,"internet"

Sorry if I am am presuming that you are not computer savvy, but you can still fine tune it if you connect to MTN's server but cannot connect to your HOME PAGE ie GOOGLE.
Dissable "LCP EXTENSIONS"
Set a lower connection speed (computer to modem) The second highest will do.This will not affect the internet speed. The highest value seems to make my connection "time out"
More?

No. You are lucky. I was a Vaalie most of my life and looked forward to my annual leave and have a blast here. I now live here and have a stunning view over Simons Town harbour to Gordens Bay, but I hardly ever look out the window anymore and never go to the beach. I used to check the chics out on the beach with my binos, but that has also worn off.
Enjoy your holidays.
