BIG NEWS: #AfriForum & #GerrieNel have officially been appointed by the #Botswana government to represent them in a high-profile money-laundering & fraud case, in which businesswoman Bridgette Motsepe-Radebe (sister-in-law of @CyrilRamaphosa & wife of Jeff Radebe) is implicated.
Shocking!! Motsepe-Radebe was identified as a cosignatory of at least 2 bank accounts holding some of the more than $10 billion allegedly stolen from the #Botswana government to finance a “coup” before the national election in this country. #AfriForum #GerrieNel @BWGovernment

#GerrieNel: "The fact that DIRCO failed to give any feedback to the DPP of #Botswana over 9 months indicates that the @GovernmentZA is unwilling to assist our client with their request." #AfriForum @kalliekriel @afriforum @BWGovernment

.@kalliekriel: "It is a privilege for #AfriForum to officially work together with the @BWGovernment. It is necessary for us as fellow Africans who want to help ensure that our continent is successful, to do everything in our power to eradicate fraud & money-laundering" #GerrieNel

I would take this with a MOERSE knippie sout... The whole Ian Khama - Mokgweetsi Masisi ****fest is slowly destabilising Botswana... security state agencies are being repurposed to play political intrigue...everyone being pulled into this, are just mere pawns in this battle.

Largely agree with this..

This is internal shyte inside the country that is spilling over into the international political sphere....

I expect nothing concrete to come from it at all.

Why would they ask Afriforum to trace money? This sounds a bit stupid, Afriforum have no known abilities for carrying out forensic investigations. Maybe they don't trust government agencies (the FIC should have the money trails), they could still have used real forensic investigators in private and then use that to recover and prosecute.

I read it as them appointing afriforum as their lawyers in the case...

I would take it with a huge knippie sout, just because of the writing style in the OP.

It is written like a ou vrou skinner storie. Although a modern one that discovered #tags and stuff.
