Moved into new house, telkom line info.

I bought a house recently that had a telkom line already. I tried to get the line transferred into my name but I needed a certified copy of the current owners ID. I decided then to rather just wait till I got to the new place and phoned telkom to get a new number and activate the adsl which now should be done in a week or 2 so that's sorted.

What I would like to know if anyone can help, once the new number is giving does that automatically mean the line is registered to me and I shouldn't receive anymore accounts that have the previous owners name on it and if so does that mean they would need to go to a telkom store to sort it out?

When you use your ID number to apply, that line and services is for your account.

Telkom don’t care where the line is installed, even if you have multiple lines at “your” house, you would only responsible for the ones you applied for.
