If the chicks groan to loudly, they should get a warning. If they groan loudly again they should remove one item of clothing etc...

I don't watch female tennis but I cannot help but overhear the ridiculous groaning that goes on. Sounds like an audition for Busty Young Russians.

Nothing wrong with that. A few porn sounds in (female) sport make it more enjoyable I say.

They should definitely try do something. There was some Portuguese teenager at RG who shrieked horribly after every shot, like you won't believe...
She got warned, but she had some attitude and still didn't quieten down much.
This is who I'm talking about: Tell me how this isn't distracting...

Groans are for sex only. Sorry.

You watch female tennis for the sport?

ROFL :D

Groaning is cheating...pure and simple and that is the reason it should be banned. All these arguments about breathing and focus are irrelevant, the players know they do it and the reason they do it is to distract.

Tennis players react to the sound of the ball on racket as well as visually. The impact gives them an awareness of how hard the ball is hit and allows for a slightly quicker reaction.

Players grunt to mask the sound of the ball.

Other than that whether they want to groan anywhere else is up to them.

Yes then talking to a batsmen or saying anything while a fielder is about to catch a ball in cricket should be banned. Kallis should be banned as his grunt when he bowls is masking the true speed of the ball.

Why stop there, no grunting from any football player as the goalkeeper then does not know how hard the players has kicked the ball.

In rugby please tell the players to keep quiet when they kick as that will in effect mislead as to the true speed / distance of the kick......

+1 :D Now that I could live with.

Vuvuzelas?

If groaning and moaning bother you, get a couple of guys with vuvuzelas, and they'll blow their 'zelas when there's moaning and groaning :D

There's a massive difference between a slight grunt and the moaning that gets done in tennis.

Yes and the crowds at other sport games? They don't make a noise above a whisper?

Its proffesional sport, ffs if you can not block out a couple of grunts you don't deserve to be there.

Please keep in mind that we are talking about tennis. This is not about cricket or soccer, where there is constant noise. In tennis, the crowds remain quiet while the points are played, so why should players be exempt from this?

Because like I said if you can not block out that shriek or grunt you are imo not good enough to be at the top....

Clearly you disagree with the governing bodies who also agree that this noise level is unacceptable. I made my point in the previous post. A distraction is a distraction, so players should not be exempt from it. Being able to block it out does not make you better than the rest. It means you haven't cleaned your ears in a while :p

Each to his own.

Ok so players are also not allowed to wear jewelry and the girls in mixed doubles should wear burkas as there bodies might distract the male players. In fact why not ban all shiney things for a radius of 100m around the court?

Its all about rising above the distraction.

But like you said each to his / her own.

Bloody annoying. Ban them i say

Shurrup:mad: Go sit with the other pink shirt wearing luumberjack boys who thinks it should be banned! :p
